Karen Williams meets fashion designer Joey Bevan
Joey Bevan is a bright young thing.
My first meeting with Joey was rather fleeting, a busy designer with a handsome face, cheeky smile and sunny disposition working his backside off behind the scenes on the preparation for ESSEX Fashion Week 2011.
I could tell by watching him work and his attention to detail that he could be one to watch and a possible ‘mover and shaker’ in the fashion industry, and I wasn’t wrong.
Our paths have crossed a few times since then and I was intrigued. I wanted to find out more so I was pleased when we bumped into each other at a recent polo event, it was there that he agreed to give me the inside track his exciting career developments, his new collection and his involvement with Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model.
Showcased some of his work before HRH Prince Charles
Joey, an Essex born and bred fashion designer who has not only showcased some of his work before HRH Prince Charles, he was the innovator behind a ‘Greener Way’ or garment construction and is now taking the fashion world by storm.
head-hunted by ‘Britain's Next Top Model’
Building on the success of his fashion show (I Heart Fashion) in the summer of 2010, Joey was head-hunted by Britain's Next Top Model Live and is now widely acknowledged as an exciting young designer and one to watch within the fashion community.
Joey’s hard work and determination is inspirational
If you’re thinking about getting into fashion, a good start would be to take a leaf out of Joey’s book. Since he was fifteen, Joey’s continual hard work, dedication and self application has now landed him one of the biggest gigs of his fashion career so far, the amazing title of ‘Official Designer’ for Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model Live 2011, what an accolade for a truly genuine guy.
